STORY & PHOTOS
2011's biggest comedy was "Bridesmaids", the story of a down-on-her-luck Annie (Kristen Wiig) whose best friend Lillian is getting married. Annie just can't seem to do anything right when it comes to planning dress-shopping days or bachelorette parties, and finds herself in constant competition with Lillian's other bridesmaid, Helen (Rose Byrne).
One of the reasons Annie was so down on her luck was that her bakery, Cake Baby, had recently gone out of business. In the beginning of the film Annie and Lillian get coffee & dessert at a cafe and then walk up the street, passing by her now-empty storefront:
Unfortunately, Cake Baby isn't real, but you can still see the (undressed) storefront if you take the Paramount Studio Tour. The facade used for Cake Baby is on one of their New York backlot streets:
It's actually right up the "street" from the set that was used for the coffee shop in the previous scene.
It's cool that they filmed it all on the same fake "street" and it looked legit, and that you can visit it by taking the studio tour!
