One moment changed the entire trajectory of “Dawson’s Creek.” There’s even a book about it called Billion Dollar Kiss! I’m talking about the moment in season 3 where Pacey (Joshua Jackson) pulls his car over to the side of the road and kisses Joey (Katie Holmes):
When I was in Wilmington recently, I had to find the spot and take a few photos:
The spot you’re looking for is just after the curve in the road on Airlie Road if you’re coming from the direction of Bradley Creek Point Road, or just before the curve if you’re coming from Edgewater Lane.
This is a well-traveled road, so be careful if you pull over! Pull off the road and make sure your hazard lights are on. Don’t stay longer than you need to. Stay safe!

This spot is also the location for two other pivotal scenes in “Dawson’s Creek,” one being another season 3 scene — when Deputy Doug (Pacey’s brother) pulls Joey over and lets her know that Pacey is leaving town. The other is a (traumatic for me) season 5 scene when Dawson’s dad, Mitch, gets into a car accident and dies.
