STORY & PHOTOS

One thing that movie studios keep in mind is that they want to be able to use any part of their lots for filming purposes. That means that even offices and landscaping are done with filming in mind. Production Park at Paramount is a good example. It's a courtyard surrounded by buildings that once housed actors, directors, and producers -- including Alfred Hitchcock's former office. The buildings are built in a nondescript way so that the area can be used to mimic a park, a college campus, or an apartment complex courtyard.

It is has been used several times on "Rizzoli & Isles". In episode 104, it stands in for a college campus and a frat house:

In episode 105 of "Rizzoli & Isles", the area is used as a park where Maura (Sasha Alexander) and Jane (Angie Harmon) are going jogging and observe a girl flirting with a guy who turns out to be gay:

It pops up again on "Rizzoli & Isles" in episode 108, when the body of a man who'd been missing for two years is found propped up on a park bench, and Jane Rizzoli suspects it's the work of her nemesis Hoyt's apprentice.

In episode 208, it's another crime scene:

And in 304 and 401, it's where Maura and Jane go jogging. (A little dangerous IMHO, considering how many crime scenes they've worked there, ya know? Ha.)

It's fairly easy to recognize the park on-screen because of the columns and the distinctive windows on the buildings. It's a lovely little area, and you can imagine a lot of Paramount employees might enjoy taking a break out there to eat lunch or get a breath of fresh air.

If you take the Paramount Studio Tour, you'll almost definitely walk through this pretty park.
