EVENT Lauren Conrad's book signing for Sweet Little Lies
WHERE Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles, CA
WHEN February 18, 2010

STORY & PHOTOS

I'm a big fan of Lauren Conrad's and have been ever since I became obsessed with "Laguna Beach" when it premiered on MTV in 2004. I also loved "The Hills" and Lauren was always my favorite -- she was down-to-earth, smart, and funny. She was the girl you'd want to be your best friend.

I'm currently living in Orange County (only a few minutes from Lauren's hometown) and I found out that Lauren would be doing a book signing for Sweet Little Lies at the Barnes & Noble at The Grove in L.A. Sign me up! Since Lauren is so popular, the event required wristbands and would sell out quickly. I headed down to L.A. really early yesterday and got to The Grove shortly after 6:00am. I thought I might be crazy, but there was a whole line of people already waiting, so I felt a little better. These people get me! A few of us became pals in line and formulated a plan to buy B&N memberships (it was like $25 for the year) so we could go right to the front of the line at the signing that night. As a result, we were the first six people to meet Lauren at the signing!

Once I had my wrist band I had a whole day to kill, and luckily I had scored tickets to that day's taping of "The Bonnie Hunt Show" in Culver City. And guess who Bonnie's primary guest that day was? Yup, Lauren Conrad.

The taping was fun (RuPaul was also there) and Lauren was awesome. She was adorable in person and she and Bonnie had a good rapport. Here is her interview from the show:

After the taping I grabbed some dinner and headed back to The Grove to meet Lauren!

I met up with the friends I'd made earlier and we gathered at the front of the line with our copies of Sweet Little Lies. When Lauren first came out she stopped and posed for news photos and did a few news interviews, and then she made her way to the signing table and settled in.

When it was my turn, Lauren was really sweet to me. She was super friendly and chatted with me. I mentioned I'd been at the Bonnie Hunt taping and she told me how her roommate (Lo at the time!) convinced her to do the show because Bonnie was so nice. I was also wearing a cardigan from her Kohls clothing line, which she noticed. She was very kind and great to meet! It's always nice when someone you admire lives up to your expectations.

If you're a fan of Lauren and ever get the chance to meet her, do it! You won't be disappointed.
