STORY & PHOTOS

In 2014's "Veronica Mars" movie, our titular heroine (Kristen Bell) returns to Neptune, CA to help ex-boyfriend Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) beat a murder rap. While she's there, she attends her high school reunion, reconnects with her father (Enrico Colantoni) and disappoints him when he realizes she's on her way back into the P.I. business. By the end of the film -- spoiler alert -- Veronica is once again working with her father at their P.I. firm, Mars Investigations:

The interiors for Mars Investigations were filmed inside the same building as Gia Goodman's loft (you'll recognize the windows), but the exterior was  filmed down the street. The pattern around the windows is very distinctive.

Once I had checked it out in person, I realized the Mars building has been used in other movies and TV shows as well.  Lindsay from IANAS actually wrote a fairly lengthy post about it! The building has been seen in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "Divergent", "Beverly Hills Cop II", "Brothers and Sisters", and "How to Get Away with Murder", among other films and shows.

In the TV episodes, an exterior in San Diego was used for Mars Investigations.
