STORY & PHOTOS
It's a sad month, friends... on March 31st (my birthday!) "How I Met Your Mother" will air its final episode. But the show has had a great run and I was so lucky to be able to attend the PaleyFest farewell for the show in Hollywood tonight. In attendance were creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, director Pam Fryman, and actors Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders, Josh Radnor, and Cristin Milioti (the mother!).
There was a surprise moderator, too: Wayne Brady, who plays Barney's brother on the show. That was a fun twist and everyone in the theater was stoked when he walked out!
The cast and creators were very sweet, and talked a lot about what the show meant to them and how bittersweet it was to say goodbye. Neil Patrick Harris couldn't be there (he's in New York doing Hedwig & the Angry Inch) so he Skyped in and said some really moving things to everyone on stage. He even teared up like he might cry, which made everyone else want to cry. Such a sweet man.
And then, in a more Barney-like move, he stripped and did this:
The cast did their best to stick around and sign autographs afterward. They were getting pulled away but were very very sweet and signed and took as many photos as they could. They are all gorgeous in person and super nice!
Congrats to a lovely group of people on their nine heartfelt seasons! Thanks for making us laugh and cry with you.
