    Sonsie from “Fever Pitch”

    LOCATION:  Sonsie, an international bistro on Boston’s famed Newbury Street, which appeared in “Fever Pitch”. ADDRESS: 327 Newbury St Boston, MA 02115 http://www.sonsieboston.com/home STORY & PHOTOS: “Fever Pitch” is a very Bostony movie, as it centers on Ben (Jimmy Fallon), his obsessive love for the Boston Red Sox, and how it affects his relationship with Lindsey (Drew Barrymore). In the film, Lindsey meets her friends for dinner at Sonsie, which is a cute restaurant on Boston’s posh Newbury Street:

    The Boston Public Garden Bench from “Good Will Hunting”

    LOCATION The park bench where Robin Williams delivers his memorable monologue in “Good Will Hunting”. ADDRESS Boston Public Garden Boston, MA STORY & PHOTOS 1997’s “Good Will Hunting” showcased not only newcomers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck (who co-wrote and co-starred in the acclaimed film) but also veteran actor Robin Williams in an Oscar-winning performance as therapist Sean Maguire. ADDRESS The Ropes Mansion 318 Essex St. Salem, MA STORY & PHOTOS My friend Alex and I recently took a “Hocus Pocus” trip to Salem, MA (I wrote about Max and Dani’s house yesterday). High on our list was snapping photos in front of the gorgeous home seen as Allison’s in the movie. The historic Ropes Mansion in Salem stood in for the exterior of Allison’s house, where Max (Omri Katz) takes Dani (Thora Birch) trick-or-treating:

It’s okay to take photos from the street but be sure not to trespass or otherwise disturb the homeowners. STORY & PHOTOS I’ve always been obsessed with the Salem Witch Trials; even as a kid I found the whole thing really fascinating. My family took trips to Salem a couple of times and I visited with friends around Halloween time in high school, but somehow I’d never managed to seek out the filming locations from the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus”, which was filmed right…

    Fenway Park from “Fever Pitch”, “Ted”, “Moneyball”, and “The Town”

    LOCATION:  Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. The ballpark has appeared in many films, including “Fever Pitch”, “Moneyball”, “Ted”, and “The Town”. ADDRESS: 4 Yawkey Way Boston, MA 02215 boston.redsox.mlb.com STORY & PHOTOS: For Red Sox fans, going to Fenway Park is like going to church. The Red Sox have a well-documented underdog history and have a notoriously loyal and steadfast following. And Fenway Park is the home base of Red Sox Nation. Fenway has been seen on screen in several films, but perhaps none more prominently than in 2005’s “Fever Pitch”.

    Wahlburgers from A&E’s “Wahlburgers”

    LOCATION Wahlburgers, a restaurant owned by Mark Wahlburg’s Boston-based family, and the subject of A&E’s reality show “Wahlburgers”. ADDRESS Wahlburgers 19 Shipyard Drive Hingham, MA wahlburgersrestaurant.com STORY & PHOTOS   I love wordplay and good food, so Wahlburgers is a no-brainer and a home run for me. The burger joint and bar, run by Paul Wahlberg with the blessing of his famous brothers (movie-star Mark of “Ted” and pop singer Donnie of New Kids on the Block) is located just outside of Boston and is the subject of a reality show on A&E, so I wanted to check it out while in the Boston area.

    LOCATION Southie bar L Street Tavern, as seen in “Good Will Hunting”. ADDRESS L Street Tavern 195 L Street Boston, MA STORY & PHOTOS The good old boys of “Good Will Hunting”, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, stuck close to home while making the movie of their Oscar-winning screenplay. Most of “Good Will Hunting” was filmed in Boston, MA, and some participating local businesses are still pretty proud of it.
