    Borchert Hall from “Community”

LOCATION Borchert Hall, part of the fictional Greendale Community College campus from “Community”. ADDRESS Paramount Studios 5555 Melrose Avenue Hollywood, CA paramountstudiotour.com STORY & PHOTOS Well, Human Beings, the day has finally come: our beloved “Community” has been canceled by NBC. It is tragic, really; however, I’m glad that I was lucky enough to visit some of the locations where “Community” was filmed and to meet its cast while the show was still on the air. [Update: thank you, Yahoo!] One spot that was fun to see was Borchert Hall, which came into play in the fifth season, as we learned about the mysterious Russell Borchert, who may have had sex…

    Event: “Community” PaleyFest Panel

WHERE Dolby Theatre, Hollywood & Highland WHEN March 26, 2014 STORY & PHOTOS “Community” is a perennial favorite of the Paley Center, having been honored at PaleyFest for an unprecedented five years in a row! (For those keeping track, that’s every year they’ve been on the air.) I don’t think any other show carries that distinction. Go Human Beings!

    Event: “Community” PaleyFest Panel

WHERE Saban Theatre, Beverly Hills, CA WHEN March 5, 2013 STORY & PHOTOS I love “Community”, and the fact that it’s always on the cusp of cancellation breaks my heart. Why can’t everyone appreciate its humor and sincerity? Anyway, one gift I get is that “Community” is honored every year at PaleyFest and I get to go bask for a few hours in the glow of the amazing and hilarious cast. This year’s panel was especially amazing because, instead of screening an episode, the cast decided to do a live table-read of episode 401, “History 101”.

Live Comedy: Joel McHale & Bo Burnham

WHERE Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, Hampton Beach, NH WHEN July 27, 2008 STORY & PHOTOS I love “The Soup” and I love Joel McHale. Last night he was in my neck of the woods, doing standup at the HBCB in New Hampshire, a little over an hour from where I live in Maine. My friend Alex and I drove down for the show and, on the way, met my pal Adam for dinner (he lives in New Hampshire and goes to UNH).
