WHERE The Paley Center, 465 N Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, CA

The Paley Center in Beverly Hills is one of my favorite places to go when I'm in Southern California. It not only archives hundreds of thousands of television programs, but it often has fun exhibits and screenings to attend, and even nighttime events with the casts and creative teams of popular TV shows.

Currently, the Paley Center offers a curated exhibit called "Television Out of the Box", which presents history and artifacts from Warner Brothers Television's history. It's been there for a few years, and will be on display through 2015. If you're in the area and a TV fan, it's definitely worth checking out!

As you walk up to the exhibit there's a long illustrated wall chronicling the history of Warner Brothers Television and showing off a ton of its successful shows, like "Friends", "The West Wing", "Gilmore Girls", etc. Once you get to the exhibit itself, there are several rooms of props, costumes, and sets to check out. Many of the installations have accompanying video elements, so you can see the props and costumes in use as you check them out. (Photography is allowed, as long as you turn off your flash.)

Some of the things you'll get to see (I can't guarantee this, since they do add and switch things out periodically) are: costumes and props from "Fringe", "Supernatural", "Gilmore Girls", "Friends", "ER", "Pretty Little Liars", "The Big Bang Theory", "Two and a Half Men", "Seinfeld", "Conan", "Full House", "Family Matters", "Entourage", "The Sopranos", "The Mentalist", "Chuck", and more!

I've been to this exhibit four or five times because it's always a little bit different and I think it's fun to see the props and costumes and to pose in the scenes from "Friends", "Seinfeld", and "The West Wing".

Want to check out the exhibit? It's held at the Paley Center. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors or students with a valid ID, and $5 for children under 13. If you're a Paley Member (which I highly recommend), you get 2-for-1 admission, so bring a friend and you each only pay $5!
