The good old boys of "Good Will Hunting", Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, stuck close to home while making the movie of their Oscar-winning screenplay. Most of "Good Will Hunting" was filmed in Boston, MA, and some participating local businesses are still pretty proud of it.
Take, for instance, Woody's L Street Tavern in the "Southie" neighborhood of Boston. A major stop on the Boston TV & Movie Sites Tour (which I took in 2012 with my parents), L Street Tavern makes it very clear that they are the "Good Will Hunting" bar.
Not only does the sign outside proclaim "Home of Good Will Hunting", but the actual table from the film is inside and the tabletop is covered with pictures of the production.
Since I'm a nerdy tourist, I love places like this that cater to my species and don't make you feel like an idiot for taking movie-spot photos. The bar even sells "Good Will Hunting" souvenir pint glasses. (My dad bought me one -- thanks Dad!) And you bet your butt I made sure to sit in Ben Affleck's seat!
