"Community" is a perennial favorite of the Paley Center, having been honored at PaleyFest for an unprecedented five years in a row! (For those keeping track, that's every year they've been on the air.) I don't think any other show carries that distinction. Go Human Beings!
Tonight my cousin Alana and I went to the panel and had a great time (as we always do when the cast of "Community" is involved). Creator Dan Harmon, who was fired before the fourth season but rehired for the fifth season, received a warm welcome back and it was cool to see him back where he belongs with the "Community" family. Also in attendance were Joel McHale, Jim Rash, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, and Gillian Jacobs.
As usual, the cast were kind and gracious, signing autographs and snapping photos after the panel. I was stoked to get a photo with Jim Rash, who co-wrote and co-starred in one of my favorite movies, "The Way Way Back". He has always been super nice, each time I've met him. And he's an Oscar winner!
Joel even had a bunch of us record a video singing "Happy Birthday" to his pal (and "Castle" star) Nathan Fillion. Awesome! (Side note: I can hear myself singing and it's embarrassing.)
