1997’s “LA Confidential,” an old-Hollywood murder mystery starring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, and Kim Basinger, exposes the seedy underbelly of scandal, police corruption, and tabloid journalism, and won two Academy Awards. Luke’s Diner from “Gilmore Girls” is the same set that was used for Lou’s shoe store in “Mermaids,” and you can see Winona Ryder walk the same streets that Lorelai and Rory did all those years. The town square set still stands on the WB lot, which offers VIP tours daily, Monday through Friday from 8:20 am to 4:00 pm.
