Quick Visit: Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

If you’re looking for a Hollywood landmark, few are more iconic than Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard. Grauman’s opened in 1927 and since then has hosted several Academy Awards ceremonies and countless movie premieres. Located along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman’s is a perfect stop on your tour of film history.

In the concrete outside the theater are hundreds of autographs, handprints, and footprints, including those of Charlie Chaplin, Joan Crawford, Shirley Temple, Fred Astaire, Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Nicholson, John Travolta, Jim Carrey, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Will Smith, and Brad Pitt.

Grauman’s Chinese Theatre has been seen in many films, including scenes in “Forrest Gump,” “The Godfather,” “Rush Hour,” “The Aviator,” “The Italian Job,” “Twins,” “Valley Girl,” “A Star is Born”, and “Hollywood Homicide.”
