    LOCATION The Redwood Bar & Grill in downtown Los Angeles, which has been seen onscreen several times, often as a karaoke bar. ADDRESS Redwood Bar & Grill 316 W 2nd Street Los Angeles, CA theredwoodbar.com STORY & PHOTOS The Redwood Bar & Grill has appeared in at least three films that I adore: 2009’s “(500) Days of Summer”, 2011’s “Bridesmaids”, and 2014’s “Veronica Mars” (the film follow-up to the cult favorite TV show). The Redwood is memorable as the karaoke bar from “(500) Days” where Summer (Zooey Deschanel) sings “Sugar Town” by Nancy Sinatra and Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) sings “Here Comes Your Man” by The Pixies.

    Los Angeles City Hall from “Scandal”, “How to Get Away with Murder”, “L.A. Confidential”, and more

    LOCATION Los Angeles City Hall, a functioning government building, has been seen onscreen in “Scandal”, “How to Get Away with Murder”, “Nancy Drew”, “L.A. Confidential”, “Chinatown”, “The Black Dahlia”, and more. ADDRESS Los Angeles City Hall 200 N Spring Street Los Angeles, CA STORY & PHOTOS In addition to its historical significance, Los Angeles City Hall is also a popular filming location. In 1997’s “L.A. Confidential” (one of my favorite films), the police are stationed in City Hall. 2013’s “Gangster Squad” had several shots with City Hall in the background, including this one with the tower:

    Fenway Park from “Fever Pitch”, “Ted”, “Moneyball”, and “The Town”

    LOCATION:  Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox. The ballpark has appeared in many films, including “Fever Pitch”, “Moneyball”, “Ted”, and “The Town”. ADDRESS: 4 Yawkey Way Boston, MA 02215 boston.redsox.mlb.com STORY & PHOTOS: For Red Sox fans, going to Fenway Park is like going to church. The Red Sox have a well-documented underdog history and have a notoriously loyal and steadfast following. And Fenway Park is the home base of Red Sox Nation. Fenway has been seen on screen in several films, but perhaps none more prominently than in 2005’s “Fever Pitch”.

    Niagara Falls from “The Office”, “Fever Pitch”, and “Tammy”

      LOCATION:  Niagara Falls, national landmark and the site of Jim and Pam’s wedding on “The Office”, as well as a date between Lindsey and Ben in “Fever Pitch”. It was also the backdrop for the short-lived series “Wonderfalls”. ADDRESS: Niagara Falls Niagara Falls, NY STORY & PHOTOS: Niagara Falls is not only the oldest state park in the United States and a major tourist attraction, it’s also been used as a filming location in various TV shows and films. Full disclosure: I’ve been to Niagara Falls twice and expected it to be “meh”, but I loved it. It’s genuinely majestic.

      LOCATION Frank’s Restaurant, a no-frills diner-style spot and Burbank landmark that’s appeared in everything from “Gone Girl” to “Parks and Rec”. ADDRESS 613 Imperial Street Los Angeles, CA lot613.com STORY & PHOTOS In 2014’s “Veronica Mars” movie, Veronica (Kristen Bell) is suspicious of Gia Goodman (Krysten Ritter) and her husband Luke. While Veronica spies on Gia in her loft, Logan tails Luke around town and follows him to a West Hollywood bathhouse. Whoops — Luke’s gay. So what’s up with his marriage to Gia? Veronica soon finds out.

      LOCATION The building used as the exterior for Mars Investigations in the 2014 “Veronica Mars” movie. ADDRESS 635 Mateo Street Los Angeles, CA STORY & PHOTOS In 2014’s “Veronica Mars” movie, our titular heroine (Kristen Bell) returns to Neptune, CA to help ex-boyfriend Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) beat a murder rap. While she’s there, she attends her high school reunion, reconnects with her father (Enrico Colantoni) and disappoints him when he realizes she’s on her way back into the P.I. business. By the end of the film — spoiler alert — Veronica is once again working with her father at their P.I. firm, Mars Investigations:

      LOCATION The loft where Gia Goodman (Krysten Ritter) lives in the “Veronica Mars” movie. ADDRESS 405 Mateo Street Los Angeles, CA STORY & PHOTOS One of the major locations in the 2014 “Veronica Mars” movie was the loft where Gia Goodman lived. Not only did Gia host a class reunion after-party that was attended by most of the major players — Veronica (Kristen Bell), Mac (Tina Majorino), Wallace (Percy Daggs III), Piz (Chris Lowell), Dick (Ryan Hansen), Cobb (Martin Starr), Luke (Sam Huntington) — but it was also the setting for a major moment in the film’s climax.
