    The Empire State Building from “Sleepless in Seattle” and “Elf”

    LOCATION The iconic Empire State Building in New York City has appeared in many films, perhaps most pivotally in the romantic finale of “Sleepless in Seattle.” ADDRESS Empire State Building 350 5th Avenue New York, NY http://www.esbnyc.com/ STORY & PHOTOS Tempting as it may be to play it cool and try to skip some of the more obvious touristy spots on a visit to New York City, I can’t recommend skipping the Empire State Building. It’s an iconic landmark of the city and has a great aerial view of surrounding Manhattan. Everybody’s gotta do it at least once!

    Niagara Falls from “The Office”, “Fever Pitch”, and “Tammy”

      LOCATION:  Niagara Falls, national landmark and the site of Jim and Pam’s wedding on “The Office”, as well as a date between Lindsey and Ben in “Fever Pitch”. It was also the backdrop for the short-lived series “Wonderfalls”. ADDRESS: Niagara Falls Niagara Falls, NY STORY & PHOTOS: Niagara Falls is not only the oldest state park in the United States and a major tourist attraction, it’s also been used as a filming location in various TV shows and films. Full disclosure: I’ve been to Niagara Falls twice and expected it to be “meh”, but I loved it. It’s genuinely majestic.

    The Mall of America from “D2: The Mighty Ducks”

    LOCATION The famous Mall of America, where Averman works and which some of the rebellious Ducks skate through in “D2”. ADDRESS The Mall of America 60 E Broadway Bloomington, MN mallofamerica.com STORY & PHOTOS “D2: The Mighty Ducks” is my favorite movie of all time, and I adore the entire “Mighty Ducks” trilogy. When I was driving across the country from California to Maine, I made sure to stop in Minnesota to check out some of the “Ducks” filming locations.

    LOCATION Hollywood landmark Pink’s, where Vince (Adrian Grenier) and the boys grabbed a hot dog on “Entourage”. ADDRESS Pink’s 711 N La Brea Avenue Los Angeles, CA pinkshollywood.com STORY & PHOTOS “Entourage” is a quintessential L.A. show, and much of it is filmed at real Los Angeles locations. Good news for location-hunters and TV buffs!

    LOCATION The Grove, a shopping center adjacent to the Farmer’s Market in the Mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles. ADDRESS The Grove 189 The Grove Drive Los Angeles, CA thegrovela.com STORY & PHOTOS The Grove, Los Angeles’ premier outdoor shopping center, has popped up in TV and film multiple times. Aside from being a nice and easy place to spend a few hours shopping, eating, and catching a movie, it’s very pretty and therefore a good place to film.

    LOCATION The home of horror writer Stephen King. ADDRESS 48 West Broadway Bangor, ME Note: this is a private home. It’s okay to take photos from the street, but be sure not to trespass or disturb the residents. STORY & PHOTOS Legendary horror author Stephen King maintains a low-key lifestyle in his home state of Maine, but his gorgeous home in Bangor is evidence of his brilliantly creepy mind (and successful career).
