The Redwood Bar & Grill in downtown Los Angeles, which has been seen onscreen several times, often as a karaoke bar.

The Redwood Bar & Grill has appeared in at least three films that I adore: 2009’s “(500) Days of Summer”, 2011’s “Bridesmaids”, and 2014’s “Veronica Mars” (the film follow-up to the cult favorite TV show).
The Redwood is memorable as the karaoke bar from “(500) Days” where Summer (Zooey Deschanel) sings “Sugar Town” by Nancy Sinatra and Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) sings “Here Comes Your Man” by The Pixies.
In “Bridesmaids”, the Redwood is where Annie (Kristen Wiig) and Rhodes (Chris O’Dowd) hang out after Annie screws up the Vegas trip and gets booted as Lillian’s maid of honor.
“Bridesmaids” is set in Wisconsin and used a different exterior for the establishing shot, but the interiors were filmed at the Redwood.
It’s back to karaoke in the “Veronica Mars” movie: the Redwood is where Veronica (Kristen Bell) and Logan (Jason Dohring) find obsessive fan Ruby Jetson (Gaby Hoffman) emulating Logan’s dead ex-girlfriend on stage.
In real life, the Redwood is in downtown Los Angeles. Alex and I stopped by while we were in the area:
It’s set up like it might be a dive, but the staff was super nice and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it if you’re in the downtown area and a fan of any of these films!
