Part of the charm of beloved dramedy “Gilmore Girls” is the world in which it exists – the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. Based on real Connecticut towns, Stars Hollow is a cute and charming place where everybody knows your name (and probably all of your business). The entire town of Stars Hollow was created on the backlot of Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, in their midwest town area (snow would occasionally be brought in to delight Lorelai and bring home the idea of New England).
One place in Stars Hollow that was central to a lot of action was Miss Patty’s Barn – not only did former showbiz-er Miss Patty teach dance classes there, but it’s where town meetings were held. It’s also where Dean and Rory fell asleep after a dance, meaning they definitely did not make it home in time for curfew, which really freaked out Lorelai.
If you take the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, you’ll almost definitely see Miss Patty’s Barn, along with the rest of Stars Hollow! This area of the backlot is a major stop on most of the tours (unless filming is taking place).
